Following our production of Richard III, Corpus Christi Owlets is excited to present: Tennessee Williams’ The Magic Tower.

Linda (an ex-performer) and Jim (an unsuccessful young artist) live in a run-down garret. They have made the room into their refuge, a hidey-hole from the real world of landladies and late bills.

Together they imagine magical forests, laughing among their unpacked boxes, safe in their room, curtains closed. But when Jim leaves in the hopes of selling his paintings, Linda’s tower begins to crumble. At this moment, two figures from her past life make their entrance. They attempt to coax her out, to persuade her to return to the stage. When Jim returns, soaked and despondent, Linda sees the fractures between them. The magic tower is gone, leaving behind a leaky room. Linda begins to pack a bag.

Mitch – a vaudeville hoofer (supporting role)
Mrs. O’Fallon – the landlady (small role)
Molly – the landlady’s daughter (small role)
