Brew Hill

Brew Hill (Pecadillo Productions)

Venue/Date of Show: BT, bidding Hilary Term wk5/6

Content Warnings: strong language, discussion of death, anxiety and addiction.

Deadline: Tuesday 18th October

Hello good people of OUDS, Pecadillo productions is back with a new Tragicomedy to be staged at the BT next term.

THE PLAY:
Nat and Gordon are two unemployed former art students. They live in a dingy flat, bicker, laugh, go through the motions. Gordon suffers from panic attacks, and the only way he can combat them is by compulsively checking the flights to Berlin. Nat is a recovering alcoholic who has visions of the early modern Flemish painter Pieter Brueghel. And Pieter himself, plagued by nightmares and regret, has his own tale to tell.
Nat and Gordon's routines crack under the pressures of solitude, their story begins to overlap with Pieter's, and all three are forced to face the questions they have so long tried to escape; Is community an excuse for stagnation? Can creativity be home-grown? And is it a good idea to start a brewery if you don't like beer?
This is a play for fans of Beckett, queer friendship, peep show, and the most goated painter to ever put paintbrush to Oak panel. And we want YOU to get involved!
We have basically all of the usual (and some of the unusual) crew roles up for grabs, and most don't require experience; for more info about roles and vision see the link.
Pecadillo's coffers are also bursting with hard-earned proceeds from previous shows, and we are eager to take this project to the Edinburgh Fringe after our Oxford run, so not really one to miss.

We as a company are committed to equal opportunities, and particularly encourage people from backgrounds underrepresented in Oxford drama to apply!

The deadline is Midday on Tuesday the 18th of October; Feel free to pop us an email at pecadillo.productions@gmail.com or dm me (Kilian King, writer and director) on facebook with any questions
Happy applying!
