A director decides to stage an experimental play in which he recruits recently bereaved people with varying degrees of connection to the theatre, based on the original and problematic secrets they shared with the person they lost. His show’s aim: help them use their experiences to heal from their grief and personal struggles. However, unbeknownst to them, all actors are grieving the same person. The director has intentionally casted only those who knew his estranged daughter Mia, recently dead, in an effort to reconstruct and discover the life she led. During the rehearsals, as each member reckons with their own relationship to Mia and the existential struggles that come with grief, the secrets begin to unravel and reveal everyone’s dark, hidden sides as well as Mia’s own twisted and tragic life.
