Waiting for Godot

Waiting for Godot (Seabass Theatre)

Venue/Date of Show: Bidding O'Reilly/Pilch WK3

Content Warnings: Death and suicide, representations of slavery.

Deadline: Wednesday November 12th (WK5) at 23:59.

Welcome to the Crew Call for our production of Samuel Beckett's play Waiting for Godot. A play where nothing happens twice, it is the perfect post-lockdown play, acting as a meditation on the nature of human existence and social relationships in the face of a purgatorial society.

Looking for:

  • Assistant Director

  • Assistant Producer

  • Production Manager

  • Welfare Officer

  • Lighting Designer

  • Sound Designer

  • Costume Designer

  • Marketing Manager

This production will be very low-scale and low-key, stripping away spectacle to focus on the raw relationship between Vladimir and Estragon, highlighting the physical comedy, the tenderness, and the depth of textual meaning behind Beckett's highly abstract language.

Seabass Theatre is an inclusive company, and we encourage everyone to apply, especially
Freshers and people from backgrounds usually underrepresented in Oxford Drama. In light of current events, we would like to emphasise our commitment to diversity and inclusion and actively encourage LGBTQ+, BAME, disabled, and state-school educated creatives to apply to this crew call. There is no minimum experience level.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at seabasstheatre@gmail.com
