The Crucible is a brutal dramatising of the 1692 Salem witch trials, in which 19 people were hanged. Written during the wave of McCarthyism, it portrays the struggle for integrity amidst a climate of mass hysteria and ruthless judgement.
When a group of girls are caught dancing in the woods, they fend off punishment by accusing others of witchcraft. What starts as self-preservation spirals into mass hysteria: as accusations fly, the accused face impossible choices.

Boulevard Productions are looking to fill supplementary crew roles for our production of The Crucible!
We need you to help us make the concepts of our brilliant marketing and design crew a reality...
Available roles:
- Choreographer
For the opening movement sequence
- Costume Assistant(s)
Basic sewing skills desirable: hand sewing and machine sewing (we will most probably be altering a lot of the garments)
- Sound Assistant
- Lighting Assistant
- Marketing Assistant
- Set Assistant(s)
No experience is necessary - only enthusiasm and the desire to be part of an exciting production!
We encourage everybody, especially those from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds in Oxford drama, to apply.
