Stories from an Abandoned Warehouse

Stories from an Abandoned Warehouse (Crazy Child Productions)

Venue/Date of Show: (Bidding) Piltch- Trinity Week 3, 5 and 8.

Content Warnings:

Deadline: 28th of February

Crazy Child Productions is looking for a creative and dedicated crew to stage the first-ever English-language production of Historias de un galpón abandonado by a distinguished Chilean author, Ramón Griffero. Written as a play that defied and criticised Pinochet’s dictatorial regime in Chile, this is a really meaningful and exciting project that foregrounds foreign experimental and political theatre in Oxford.

Set in what seems like the last possible place of refuge, people of different classes, ages, and professions end up in an unlikely and dysfunctional grouping whilst seeking protection from... well, this is unclear. However, instead of safety, they find the Council: an elite group that turns the lives of the newly arrived guests into a living nightmare for their own amusement. Stories are shared, shots are heard, and power is abused. In the spiral of memories, music and celebrations, the Council turns the supposedly safe space into the very thing that the guests sought to escape.

Originally staged using highly expressionistic and non-naturalistic elements, our production will stay true to such a style, thus providing a great deal of opportunities for creative choices, especially in light, costume, set and sound design. We encourage everyone to apply regardless of their experience!

We are looking for:
Co-Director
Producer
Marketing Manager
Stage Manager
Lighting Designer
Set Designer
Sound Designer
Costume Designer
Graphic Designer

Deadline for submission is 28th of February 2026. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to patryk.wisniewski@lincoln.ox.ac.uk.
