Looking for a director and producer to help bring 'Holy Dolls' to life!!!
I've taken my magazine writing to the stage, and I want audiences to feel the discomfort, angst, and dread of Lilith, Sloane, Carina and Adelaide.
HD openly rejects the aestheticisation of ‘girlhood’, and the recent reclaiming of it as sparkly and pink. It instead welcomes chaos, mess, stereotype and screaming matches to represent the hormonal and existential torment many young women experience.
" Do you want me in your little cult or not? "
Set in an all-female religious institution which limits contact with the external world, four girls are schooled from infancy until coming of age, before they choose to reside as a member of staff for life, or to leave the cult. As they navigate this decision period, the friendship swiftly becomes dysfunctional and aggressive. Broken rosaries, customised veils and mysterious bottles of liquid all trace the breakdown of the four girls' relationship. Will it survive this life-altering transition?
