Deadline: 7th December
Wyrdwright Productions are recruiting an initial crew for their upcoming production:
A Conspiracie of VVitches, a new play by Thomas Arensen.
“I heard of a most foule and damnéd plot, to set a Queene upon this kingdomes throne.”
A tragicomic tale of kings, queens, princes and princesses, of ambition, treachery, withcraft and murder, written in verse and prose. Inspired by the candlelit and cutthroat world of late Elizabethan and early Jacobean theatre, A Conspiracie of Witches is set across two timelines: 1613 and ‘Now’.
1613. A time of political intrigue, of power struggles, superstition, and betrayals. A failing and indebted playwright, Richard Brome, is commissioned by a shadowy group to write a seditious play targeting the King.
'Now'. Brome’s descendant, an equerry to the Royal Family, is commissioned by a shadowy group to plot a coup and put the Princess Royal Lottie on the throne.
Think Succession but candle-lit, and sprinkle with Shakespeare. The play is in its early drafts, and much of it will be workshopped and devised.
The two timelines will mean lots of creative bandwidth for Lighting, Sound, Costume, and Set Designers.

We are currently recruiting for the following roles (more to come):
Co-Producer - Work as a team with our producer and co-directors; organising funding and schedules, overseeing logistics prior to production week, liaising with the rest of the team. It’s also a chance to get involved in the show creatively if you want. Some experience in student theatre is ideal, but it doesn’t have to be in production or even crew.
Co-Director (or Assistant Director) – Work with the director to create a cohesive show across both timelines, work on the casting and share rehearsals.
Graphic Designer – poster, social media posts, and other promotional material. Some experience in graphic design is a plus.
Wyrdwright Productions welcomes all applications. We actively encourage those underrepresented in the Oxford Drama scene and beyond to apply, including (but not limited to) LGBTQIA+, BAME, disabled, or state-school educated creatives.
