Brought to life through vivid physical theatre, music, puppetry and experimental stagecraft, Tidal Theatre’s Launa follows Edna, a young mother processing the loss of her daughter, Launa, a year after her death. Grief has many faces: cold calls and supermarket flowers, sometimes earth-shattering implosions of memory, and sometimes a quietly childlike apparition, asking if she’d like to play.

As the life Launa might have lived flickers in and out of focus, we ask whether relationships in the present are possible whilst Edna clings to the past, and when silenced, to what lengths will grief go to make itself heard?

Auditions will take place on Saturday 11th October (4pm-5:30pm) and Sunday 12th October from 4.30-6pm at Jesus College. (If you can’t make these times, please let us know)

Looking for:
- Five Actors: One Male-presenting, Four Female-presenting.
- We encourage FRESHERS to get involved!
- The audition will be in a workshop format. No prior acting or physical theatre experience is required. We are looking for actors prepared to experiment with movement and physical expression. Please note that we will explore some of the movement techniques in the audition room, so come in clothes you are comfortable in.

This production will also play at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2026. It is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in taking a production beyond Oxford.
